Meet Simon Henein - performer, professor, author of #BarefootAcademicTeaching 🩵 and creator of the inspirational yearlong course #Improgineering 🩶 where the fields of Engineering and Improvisation are curiously interwoven through embodiment at EPFL École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. Simon created this course because:

𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘤𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘤 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘦𝘹𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘤𝘦𝘴. 𝘎𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘶𝘱 𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 & 𝘰𝘸𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘱 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 …

I am so thrilled to see a growth for #embodiededucation, with such knowledgable and passionate professors! And I didn’t just get to talk to Simon in #32. Simona Ferrar also enriched our conversation with her experience as a jury member at the final performance and as co-creator for #ProjectLighthouse; with the mission to embed this embodied work on a larger scale at EPFL and broader!

🎧 Come on over to hear Simona read some of the #reflectivediaries feedback from the Improgineering students! The depth and honesty of the students in their growth process... These writing methods are profound ways to help students get more acces to their inner worlds, their senses, their awareness of perception.

“This class in comparison to all the other courses:
🤍 is a relief for the students,
🤍 they feel like they can take a breath,
🤍 they can enjoy and feel
#pleasure

And that’s not it, you can also come and listen to episode #33 separate and super rich conversation with Marguerite Thery - a participant of last years Improgineering course. She shares: "𝘛𝘏𝘐𝘚, 𝘛𝘏𝘐𝘚 𝘪𝘴 𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘱 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘥. 𝘐𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘮 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 … 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘰𝘭𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘷𝘦 𝘪𝘵. Come and listen how Marguerite found more
hashtag#agency, and how this course helped her grow in legitimacy as we talk about how to hashtag#transfer this new embodied knowledge to her professional and personal world.

Or If you like to explore, join (minute 46.00) Simon his exploration on the 👀gaze.
